"You can trust me"… GOD

27 Oct

Throughout scripture we can find GOD continuously saying to us… “Trust me, Trust me, You can Trust me”…

A recent devotion I read, discussed “releasing all of our worries into HIS care”, in order to clear the way to seek HIS face unhindered.

Instead of regretting or resenting the way things are, we should thank God in all circumstances. (1Thess.5:18) It’s in that spirit we all have been praying and believing.

God is more than Faithful. (Psalm 89)

On October 24, I accepted an offer from Horne LLP that will lead us back to Jackson, MS. Since coming to Jackson last April (we thought temporarily) I sensed a stirring in my heart that change might be coming. The disaster relief project (Katrina) had rejuvenated my career and created a sense of “helping others”. It seemed that the LORD was moving me out of the “comfort zone” of the past few years.

So on Monday, November 3, we will begin a new chapter in my professional life. Psalm 32:8 gives much comfort in His leadership.. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you and watch over you.”

To all of you who have lifted our family up with your prayers, we say THANK YOU! As we begin the process of transitioning from our home in Georgia, we continue to ask for your prayers.

Psalm 91:1 has been a verse of comfort to me this year. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

My prayer for us all is.. that we will Trust in the LORD with All of our heart, not lean on our own understanding. Acknowledge Him in All our ways and know that He will direct our paths. Prov.3:5-6

We can then be assured that He is with us and will watch over us wherever we go. (Joshua 1:9)

HE will meet All our needs according to HIS glorious riches. (Phil. 4:19)

Nothing in all creation will seperate us from HIS great love. (Rom. 8:35)

and so much more.

God is SO Good!

IT’S ABOUT TIME…DON’T YOU THINK?!!!! ANYONE ELSE READY TO SEE SOMETHING BESIDES THOSE CRAZY YEARBOOK PICS?!!!! We’ve had our laughs over them… thank goodness for laughter, it is good for the soul.

Ecclesiastes 3:4 says There is a time for everything, a time to laugh and a time to cry…

For anyone reading this that doesn’t already know, Robert found out on October 3 that he no longer had a job. WOW.. we sure didn’t see that coming! A time to cry…

The Good News is.. it sometimes takes things like this to remind us of who really is in charge, and it’s NOT us! And THAT…is a REALLY GOOD THING!

We are truly clinging to “THE ONE IN CHARGE”… Our Faithful Heavenly Father.. Our Almighty & Awesome GOD. We appreciate your prayers as we seek Him with all of our hearts(Jeremiah 29:13). HE has THE BEST PLAN and we want to be right in the center of it..HIS plan.. NOT ours!

Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

Lamanin? You’ve got to watch this video!

HE IS THE ONE who is holding us together in more ways than we even realize!

A Tribute to Bo…a Quarter Century old today

21 Jun

This time 25 years ago I was 25 years old experiencing for the first time the thrill and excitement of labor pains! Living in Clarksdale, Ms at the time… I mowed the yard the day before hoping to move things along. Our due date had already passed us by and we could hardly wait to meet our precious “Bundle of Joy”! It worked…somewhere around midnight I started having some real back pains…by 5:00 am we knew “IT WAS TIME”! With bags packed, we were off…I would like to say that I followed through with my “mighty woman” statement of going “natural”, but it didn’t take long for me to start pleading for “SOMETHING”! (By the way I do have much admiration for all you “mighty women” who have gone naturally) However, this was in the “olden days” and in Clarksdale, Ms, epidurals were not an option. I wasn’t convinced that what they gave me helped at all..but to spare those details…

ROBERT EARL CORDLE III made his entrance into the world somewhere around 1:00 that afternoon. What a miracle! Overwhelmed with Joy! Our first born.. A Baby Boy! The Lord rocked our world ..it would never be the same! By blessing us with such amazing love for this little guy He sent down from above! As newborn parents we didn’t want to put him down..so we rocked him and we cuddled him and we rocked some more.. “passy” and “pippy” were his favorite friends.. so full of adventure, curiosity and fun.. that hasn’t changed any and he’s only just begun..

As parents so proud of you now as we were then… Our little “fella” grew up and what a man you’ve become! There’s a girl out there somewhere (I pray for her daily) who when the timing is right will meet the “catch of a lifetime” and be blessed beyond measure!

With a heart of gold and a sense of humor to treasure.. you make life so much more fun whenever you’re around! You just never know where you might be found.. fulfilling your dreams and making them come true! You inspire all of us why not just do that, too! Where in the world is Walbo? Where will he be next? Family, friends, coworkers, too.. you are loved by all, this is so true! (I suppose you’ve made someone mad along the way, but they probably still think that you’re OK!) You teach us so much about many things… but when it comes to computers, technology, and such.. without you where would we be?! Your gifts and abilities came directly from The Lord.. they sure didn’t come from your Dad and me!

We give our thanks to God for blessing us with you.. and really can’t wait to see what all He’s going to do.. IN YOUR NEXT 25 YEARS!

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Good News from NeeNee

After patiently waiting for results from test we finally have some news! Good News!  Mom’s (NeeNee) report is NO cancer… rather inflammatory fluid from Pneumonia.. along with we shouldn’t have to be in the hospital much longer.  Continue to pray with us that the medications they have given her will work quickly and thoroughly.. and that she will regain her strength back and feel good again soon!  Thanks so much for your prayers!  We are most thankful!

"Gracious Uncertainty"

6 May

One of my all time favorite devotion books is Oswald Chamber’s  My Utmost for His Highest.  I have many times been quiet convinced that pages have been divinely rearranged depending on certain circumstances I am dealing with.  For instance…one of the days I was out and about in Jackson (see video below) looking for a place to live for the next ‘not sure how many’ months… began with this.

“Gracious Uncertainty”

Our natural way is to always try to forecast accurately what will happen next and we look at uncertainty as a bad thing.  But when we allow God to be our Source we can be certain in our uncertainty.  To be certain of God means that as we may not know what tomorrow may bring…instead of sighing with discontent it should be with an expression of breathless expectation.
As soon as we abandon ourselves to God, He begins to fill our lives with surprises.  When we can let go and just Trust Him, our life can be full of spontaneous, joyful uncertainty and expectancy.

May the God of hope, fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

EASTER WEEKEND

25 Mar

I am so thankful for the time we had to spend together this past weekend!

There was lots to celebrate…Anna Catherine turning 22! Caroline turning 19! The Hapatoochet coming out of winter hibernation allowing us to spend some brief but very refreshing moments on the lake! (Many thanks to the Garlingtons!)

But ofcoarse The Greatest Celebration was the death and resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the magnitude of what that means to us! A fresh word for me was from Luke 24 …

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus….As they talked about all that had happened on their way to the village of Emmaus, Jesus came up and walked with them; but they were not able to recognize who He was. When they reached the village they urged Jesus to stay with them still not knowing who He was… So He stayed and when He was at the table with them, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized HIM! They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us and opened the Scriptures to us?” They found the other disciples and worshiped together saying, “IT IS TRUE! THE LORD HAS RISEN!”

My prayer is that our eyes will be opened and we will recognize Him in ways we never have before! I pray that our hearts will burn within us with a passion to Know Him and His Word and to ask Him to open the Scriptures to us just like He did for the disciples! And I pray that we may truly Love Him with All of our heart, mind, soul, and strength!

Praises to Him!

much love to all,

mom

Anna’s Awards

Anna Catherine with her MOST ENTHUSIASTIC award (for the fourth year!!!) and her most improved Scholastic award!!!

Yep…ole mom and dad have been battling some of this cold stuff going around. We both lost and ended up at the Dr. He’s given us enough drugs that things should be looking better! This has set us back somewhat in our training program, but hopefully we can get back going soon. Never take for granted good health and do everything you can to maintain it!

“I thank my God every time I remember you.”

“Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart…”

Thoughts on Valentines Day

14 Feb

Happy Valentines Day (or as Anna Catherine’s friend would say Valentimes)

“Keep company with The LORD and see how He loves..not with caution, but extravagantly..not in order to get something but to give everything..LOVE LIKE THAT!”

Ephesians 5:1-2 (The Message)

Evrybody love evrybody? (as Todd would say)
