The one who "played" soccer

29 Feb

Hey fam! It’s been a while since I have posted.Thursday after class I decided to just go ahead and come home! So, Thursday afternoon I packed up and drove to Newnan. As soon as I got in to town, I could not stop smiling. I didn’t realize how much I had missed home! It has been so good to be home and spend time with mom and dad.

Thursday night mom taught me to sew(thanks mom!). The other weekend I saw this little girl in some precious blue jeans with ribbons sewed to them. I decided to make some for Mary Joy. They ended up being so precious! Here is a picture of Mary Joy showing off her new jeans!!

Tonight. I went to the Newnan soccer game with Mimi and Jennifer. It was so good to see Mimi, I hadn’t seen her in so long. It was bittersweet going to a soccer game, I miss soccer so much and would have loved to have been able to gone out there and play. But, it is also good to move on ! I finally realized I am no longer “the one who plays soccer.” It was really good to see all the girls and Coach Buck. They did really well and won 6-0.

I love you all and I’m looking forward to the wedding tomorrow!

See you tomorrow fam! Love Lots!!!

Off to Rooks's Wedding

29 Feb

Sorry for the lack of posts this week…I’ve been busy getting ready for this weekend.  Jason Rooks’s wedding is tomorrow night, and I’m fortunate enough to be a groomsman.  The catch is, this is one of the busiest weekends of the year as far as Auburn events are concerned.  There’s a basketball game last night, a gymnastics meet tonight, basketball tomorrow night, and again on Sunday.  I’ve never missed an event that I was responsible for.  I know that my crew is very capable, but we still had somebody fly up from our Tampa office to cover for me just in case something goes crazy.  Regardless, I’m sure I’ll be on pins and needles until somebody from the crew calls me tonight and tells me everything went well.

Anyway, as I mentioned…I’m headed to Trussville for the wedding, and I’ll be back in AU bright and early Sunday morning to get ready for the basketball game vs. Arkansas.

Love y’all, and I’ll see you at the wedding tomorrow.  Oh, and Anna…have fun at Old Waverly (even though the blog doesn’t know about it!).

I'm FREE!!!!

28 Feb

I am free from being on probation with the University. I haven’t Hazed in a year! For those of you who don’t know, last year I was in the wrong place at the wrong time! Some boys in a fraternity here were paddling some of their brothers who had Birthdays. I stopped by to see one of my friends and was there about 10 min.  Some girls there took pictures of the guys being paddled. Thanks to Facebook, these girls posted these pictures and I (along with 5 others) happen to be in the view of these pictures. I was called to University Judicial and my punishment was 1 year probation, 5 hours of community service, and we had to do a presentation on hazing during Greek Week to the entire Greek community.  That judicial was exactly one year from today! Therefore my year is up! Mom and Dad you can add this to your proud parents section!!! :)

IT SNOWED!!!!

Last night it snowed! It didn’t stick very much. It looked like Dippin Dots were falling from the sky! Here is a picture of Janele, me, and Jen in the snow!

Proud Parents

26 Feb

Just a reminder that all of you make us such proud parents! I will post the picture of our proud moment with Anna Catherine on Saturday if I can figure out how… (Thanks, Bo!)

Anna’s Awards

Anna Catherine with her MOST ENTHUSIASTIC award (for the fourth year!!!) and her most improved Scholastic award!!!

Yep…ole mom and dad have been battling some of this cold stuff going around. We both lost and ended up at the Dr. He’s given us enough drugs that things should be looking better! This has set us back somewhat in our training program, but hopefully we can get back going soon. Never take for granted good health and do everything you can to maintain it!

“I thank my God every time I remember you.”

“Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart…”

So… Be a better Blogger please! I love yall!

A few milestones…

25 Feb

Two very important milestones occurred in my life today. Ready?

  • I traveled 7 miles slower than I ever have before.
  • Graphics that I created were on national tv.

Ok, I’ll start with the 7 mile thing. As you know, we as a family are training to run in a race at the end of April. I’m planning on running a half marathon. That’s huge for me, because before last summer I really never ran at all. I vaguely remember running around the block twice in 3rd grade, but that doesn’t count. I never really ran “for fun” until last July. However, I’ve come to respect feeling that jogging gives me, and I’m really glad to be training for this half-marathon. It’s also really helpful that the rest of the fam is training as well, because they all serve as a bit of encouragement. Here’s where they’re going to laugh at me, because my training plan had me run 7 miles today, while they’ve been running over 8 miles for a few weeks now. I may have “customized” my training plan a little bit.

Regardless, after taking a much needed week off from exercise, I just completed 7 miles, and it feels wonderful. So what if it took me almost 90 minutes. I think it’s safe to say that this is the slowest I’ve ever traversed a 7 mile stretch. Even rush hour in Atlanta moves faster than that, and I’m pretty sure that my sailboat was faster than that, wind or no wind.

Kinda creepy pic of me after my 7 mile jog, seconds before I started cramping.

I ran 7 miles!

Ok, so bullet point number two. I’m still somewhat convinced that most of my family and friends really have no clue what I get paid to do. It’s ok, sometimes I’m not really sure myself. But today at the Auburn/Alabama basketball game, some of my handywork was proudly displayed on national television. I could make an argument that some of my stuff was seen at last year’s Final Four, but I didn’t create much of that. I created the “Gymnastics Next Meet” graphic you see on the LED scorer’s table…

Table Graphic

This is one of the 15 graphics I created for today’s game on CBS. I mean, I know it’s not as impressive as Anna’s “Scholastic Achievement Award”, but I thought it was kind of cool.

Love y’all…hope everyone has a great week!
